a small portrait

Born and raised in Iceland

Most likely, because I grew up near the mountains, a new love of capturing their beauty was soon discovered when I first looked at them through the viewfinder.

A minimalist, abstract approach to capture the beauty of nature and life itself, probably comes from my musical background, a love for human anatomy, physics, philosophy and the drive to create something unique.

I ascertained similarities in my interest, holding a B.Sc and MSc in physiotherapy, having studied physics, biochemistry and molecular biology, an artistic view towards life and nature itself have always pleased me.

I aim to portray and present the aesthetics of nature with quality and excellence

View on photography

I am not sure I would label myself as a photographer. In arts, my goal is provocation.

To create an ambiance with my work, to stimulate and provoke a sincere feeling within the viewer.

The passion is not particularly storytelling, nor documentation but to create something to which no paraphrase ever does justice.

My workflow is more related to a painter than the typical photographer. Maybe that is why a lot of my work ends up being thoroughly abstract. Visual arts would be a more suitable label if I were to label myself.

Work description

When writing this, I recalled a phrase one particular person mentioned to me after buying a piece of my work:

“… you can always distinguish your images, there is a certain element, a certain similarity in every piece you produce, I don’t know what it is.

In the time being of improving myself, my most honest work was the one that resonated the most within.

I found myself aiming for more controlled, subtle and lyrical work, and guess with time and practice, the subtle art of aesthetic outcome was more intriguing.

Using the same colors in every image has helped me to make a more habitual and characteristic work, and if you look closely, I guarantee there is a true similarity in every single outcome.
