About the Photoshoot for Sweet Aurora – Photography by Andri Jónasson

In the heart of Reykjavík, a new culinary gem is blossoming—Sweet Aurora, a French pastry startup led by the talented chef Aurore. When Aurore invited me to capture the essence of her home-based bakery, I knew the focus had to be as much on the warmth and passion of the chef as the delicate artistry of her French pastries. This photoshoot became a celebration of both the personal touch Aurore brings to her work and the stunning visual beauty of her creations.

The Character of the Shoot: A Beautiful Balance

The main characters of this shoot were not just the pastries but also the beautiful environment where they were created. Aurore’s home is adorned with stunning wallpaper that became the backdrop for many of the images. This wallpaper, with its intricate patterns and rich tones, complemented the elegance and artistry of Aurore’s pastries. The result was a perfect blend of personal warmth and professional craftsmanship, where the beauty of the environment mirrored the care and skill Aurore puts into every pastry she creates.

Of course, Aurore herself played a central role in the shoot. Her passion for her craft shines through in every image, from the precise detailing on her cakes to the sparkle in her eye as she works. Each photograph tells the story of a woman dedicated to bringing a taste of France to Iceland, with a level of precision and artistry that is nothing short of inspiring.

A Home-Based Dream in the Heart of Reykjavík

Aurore’s story is one of dedication and passion. As a graduate of the prestigious Institute Paul Bocuse in France, she brings years of experience working at some of the finest establishments. Now, she’s working on opening the first fine French pastry shop in Iceland. The photoshoot took place in her home, a cozy and welcoming space that is as much a part of her story as the pastries themselves. The setting reflected the intimate beginnings of this startup, where every cake sold brings her closer to her dream of opening her shop in Reykjavík.
